Yasin Malik wants concrete steps by UN on Kashmir

Srinagar, August 21, 2016 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Muhammad Yasin Malik has asked the international community including the United Nations, Organization of Islamic Cooperation and United Nations Human Rights Council to take concrete steps to save Kashmiris from Indian wrath. Muhammad Yasin Malik in a message sent out from jail in Srinagar hailed the condemnation issued by United Nations Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon on killings in Kashmir.

However, he said the ban on international media, restrictions on local media, curbs on internet, mobile phones and the other means of communication is a ploy of New Delhi and the puppet administration to suppress the reality over Kashmir and halt it from reaching to outside world.

Yasin Malik said condemning killings is a welcome step but Kashmir has been turned into a big jail from last 45 days with strict curfew in place and even essential services and basic necessities of life being barred from reaching its residents.

He said that Kashmiris being a part of international community and the territory being a disputed region according to UN charter and resolutions, expect that UN, OIC, UNHRC and other institutions and governments will raise their voice against atrocities being committed on Kashmiris and will try to stop them but till now the hopes have been shattered.

Malik said that so many even from India, clearly accept the fact that Kashmir is not a law and order issue but a human issue and a dispute which needs a political solution.

Meanwhile JKLF leader, Noor Muhammad Kalwal has been shifted to Central Jail Srinagar.
