Islamabad, June 12, 2022 (PPI-OT):World Day against Child Labour was observed on Sunday. The theme of the day this year called for increased investment in social protection systems and schemes to protect children from labour. The eradication of child labour requires a systemic approach and effective policies to strengthen social protection systems, education, and decent work opportunities for parents to address the conditions that drive child labour.

In his message on World Day against Child Labour, he said Children are the future of Pakistan and parliament has taken all possible steps to enact legislation aimed at eradicating child labour.

He said Pakistan Stands by its international obligations to prevent child labour. He said child labour perpetuates poverty, unemployment, illiteracy, population growth, and other social problems. The child’s hands are too small to work; they look good holding a pencil.
