Valley to observe solidarity with Jammu tomorrow

Srinagar, July 30, 2015 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani has said that the Kashmiris will never compromise on their birthright to self-determination, as they are not a saleable commodity. Syed Ali Gilani, addressing a function in Srinagar warned that any anti-Muslim activity by India and its agents in the territory particularly in Jammu would be opposed tooth and nail. The veteran leader said that the people of the Valley would observe tomorrow as the day of solidarity with the Muslims of Jammu and the day would be marked with rallies and demonstrations.

Senior Hurriyet leader, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, terming the statement of ND Pancholi, the lawyer of martyr Muhammad Afzal Guru, as an eye-opener for the just-loving people of the world, in a statement, today, said the Indian administration and judiciary had always been biased towards the Muslims. Shabbir Shah expressed disappointment over the hanging of Yaqub Memon saying that he was executed to suppress and terrorize Muslims.

ND Pancholi in an interview had said that Indian home ministry never sent the mercy petition of Guru’s wife to the-then Indian president, Abdul Kalam. The Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League at a meeting in Srinagar, today, demanded the release of illegally detained senior Hurriyet leader, Masarrat Aalam Butt. The Association of Parents of Disappeared Persons in a statement called upon the UN member states to revisit their relations with India in view of New Delhi’s worst human rights record in occupied Kashmir.

The Jammu and Kashmir Mahaz-e-Azadi leader, Mir Muhammad Iqbal, along with party activists visited the martyrs’ graveyard in Islamabad and paid tributes to the party leader, Malik Muhammad Maqbool on his 23rd martyrdom anniversary, today. The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement while remembering the martyr said that Maqbool stood for the cause of freedom.

Meanwhile, the puppet authorities continued to place Hurriyet leaders including Syed Ali Gilani, Shabbir Ahmed Shah and Zafar Akbar Butt under house arrest in Srinagar. On the other hand, Indian police arrested after subjecting Independent member of so-called Kashmir Assembly, Engineer Abdul Rasheed, to brutal torture during a protest rally against the custodial hanging of Yakub Memon.
