Top Hurriyet leadership jointly calls for protests on Friday

Srinagar, May 31, 2016 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, the top Hurriyet leaders, Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik, have called for peaceful protests on Friday against India’s anti-Kashmir designs.

The leaders in a joint programme issued after consultation called for hoisting of black flags after Juma prayers to protest against Indian plans of to construct separate colonies for retired Indian soldiers and Kashmiri Pandits, harassment of Jammu Muslims and Delhi’s so-called Industrial Policy in Kashmir. They have appealed to the people to make the protest programme a success.

Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik in their statements issued in Srinagar, today, said that the puppet authorities in an insensible way have identified the lands in Budgam, Baramulla and Bandipora districts for the purpose of establishing the colonies for Pandit and Indian soldiers. They said that the puppet regime was trying to keep the public in dark about the issue and was spreading lies in this regard.

They warned that if Mehbooba Mufti-led regime did not stop to follow the RSS agendas in occupied Kashmir and did not shun these plans, the pro-freedom leadership would jointly start a protest campaign against this and would resist the aggressive policies of the Sangh Parivar at all costs.

Syed Ali Gilani strongly condemned the continued imprisonment of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Mohammad Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Altaf Ahmad Shah, Ayaz Akbar and Yasmeen Raja for the past 7 days.

He said that Mehbooba Mufti and her RSS colleagues were trapped in a misunderstanding that by caging the pro-freedom leadership, they would succeed in implementing the RSS agenda in Kashmir and they would face no resistance. He said that every Kashmiri understands that the Sangh Parivar with the help of PDP has started a dangerous war against their existence, individuality and their Muslim identity. “Any carelessness on the part of Kashmiris at this crucial time will have serious consequences and they will become strangers in their own land,” he warned.

Syed Ali Gilani said that the joint protest programme of the pro-freedom leadership would continue if the plan of proposed colonies for Pandit and soldiers were not dropped. Meanwhile, Syed Ali Gilani has prayed for speedy recovery of Prime Minister of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif. In a message emailed to Nawaz Sharif’s wife Kulsum Nawaz, daughter Maryam Nawaz and brother Shahbaz Sharif, the APHC Chairman said, “I happened to meet Nawaz Sharif in Saudi Arabia and I was very impressed with his humble and polite character.”
