Those supporting Gurmehar are pro-Pakistan: Minister

New Delhi, March 01, 2017 (PPI-OT):Haryana’s Sports Minister, Anil Vij has said that those who are supporting Delhi University student, Gurmehar Kaur, for her campaign against the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s student organisation, are pro-Pakistan and should be thrown out of India.

The Minister, who is also a Bharatiya Janata Party leader, told the media, “Those who are supporting Gurmehar Kaur are all pro-Pakistan. Such people have no right to live in India and they should be thrown out of the country.”

Gurmehar Kaur, the student of Lady Shri Ram College, launched a social media campaign against the ABVP, which is the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s student organisation, in the aftermath of the February 22 violence at the Ramjas College on the Delhi University campus. The ABVP activists had assaulted students and teachers at the Ramjas College. Gurmehar Kaur is facing death and rape threats for raising her voice against the hooliganism of the ABHP activists.
