Islamabad, June 16, 2022 (PPI-OT):The management of Capital Development Authority is working fast on various projects to meet the water shortage in Islamabad city so that the citizens do not face the problem of water shortage. In this regard, in view of the increasing demand for water in the summer, the water supply department is obtaining 4 million gallons of additional water daily from Simli Dam while 20 million gallons of water was being obtained on arrival of summer.
Similarly, the duration of water supply in each sector has also been increased to 30 minutes. So that the citizens do not face the problem of water shortage in summer. However, after the monsoon rains, the water supply will be further increased as the water reserves increase.
In addition, 1.5 million gallons of extra water is being extracted daily from Khanpur Dam while approximately 8.5 million gallons of water was being extracted from Khanpur Dam on arrival of summer. However, due to increasing demand for water due to hot and dry weather. On the direction of CDA management, the Water Supply Department has added 1.5 million additional water from Khanpur Dam to the system.
In addition, due to hot and dry weather, the water supply department has put water tankers on standby round the clock. For which duties have also been distributed among the concerned staff at different times so that the grievances of the citizens can be resolved in time.
Similarly in the newly developed sectors also the water supply wing has started free water tanker service for which helpline number has also been issued while for other housing societies also water from water tankers on daily basis. Being supplied.
It may be mentioned here that the Water Supply Wing has also installed 30 new tube wells at various locations across the city. Water is being supplied. In this regard, the CDA administration has also appealed to the citizens to be careful in the use of water and to avoid wastage of water so that more and more water can be used by the citizens.
