Tehreek-e-Insaf’s long March has resumed; Punjab Police has restructured the security plan

Lahore, November 10, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Punjab Police has completed the security arrangements under comprehensive strategy for the long march of Tehreek-e-Insaf and in this regard, all available resources are being utilized for the security arrangements.

According to the details, a total of 20,000 security personnel have been deployed on the long march starting from Wazirabad and Toba Tek Singh. Spokesperson of Punjab Police said that PTI leaders Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Asad Umar were brought to the starting points of long march by special squad of Punjab Police while bullet proof glasses and rostrum were also delivered to the containers of the two caravans of the long march.

Spokesperson Punjab Police further said that the Long March administration has been requested to implement the security SOPs in all circumstances and a special security fence will be built around the Long March container. The spokesperson of Punjab Police further informed about the security SOPs that no irrelevant person or vehicle will be allowed to come near the container, commandos will be deployed on the buildings of the long march routes while the long march will be monitored by CCTV cameras.

The spokesperson of Punjab Police further said that the entry of armed private guards of participants in long march will be prohibited, aerial firing will be prohibited. The monitoring process will also continue from the control room established in the Central Police Office.

The spokesperson of Punjab Police said that Special Branch, CTD and District Police have been instructed to carry out search and combing operations on the routes of Long March on daily basis while alternative routes and additional personnel will be deployed to ensure smooth flow of traffic so that citizens should face minimum problems.
