Japan funded project for solar panels at school in Swabi, KP inaugurated

Islamabad, March 29, 2023 (PPI-OT): A grassroots grant assistance project for installation of solar panels at school in Village Shewa, District Swabi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, funded by the Government of Japan, was inaugurated on March 29, 2023. The Government of Japan had provided a USD 58,928 grant (equivalent to around PKR 16.7 million) to Shewa Educated Social Workers Association (SESWA), a local NGO working in the field of education, infrastructure, and environment, for implementing this project. Islamabad, March 24, 2023 (PPI-OT): Information about entering into Japan New entry of foreign nationals Regarding new entry of foreign nationals into Japan, based on the New Border Measures (34) dated on September 26, 2022, prescribed applications in the Entrants, Returnees Follow-up Systems (ERFS) is no longer required. In addition, the measure to limit the entry of foreign tourists to those on package tours was lifted. COVID-19 Negative Test Result Certificate before departure / Valid COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate

Islamabad, March 24, 2023 (PPI-OT): From October 11, 2022, all returnees and entrants are required to show either a valid COVID-19 vaccination certificate of three doses of vaccines prescribed on the Emergency Use List of World Health Organization (WHO), or a certificate of negative test result of pre-departure COVID-19 test conducted within 72 hours prior to departure from the original country/region. Japan provides additional 5.58 million USD to strengthen Weather Forecasting in Pakistan

Islamabad, March 20, 2023 (PPI-OT):The Government of Japan decided to increase the amount of a grant aid for “the Project for Installation of Weather Surveillance Radar in Multan” from 2.042 billion Japanese Yen (equivalent to around 14.99 million USD) to 2.8 billion Japanese Yen (equivalent to around 20.57 million USD). Dispatch of a Self-Defense Force aircraft to relief activities in response to the damages caused by the earthquake in south-eastern Turkey, in coordination with NATO

Islamabad, March 13, 2023 (PPI-OT): On March 13th, the Government of Japan decided anew to dispatch a Self-Defense Forces (SDF) aircraft in response to the damages caused by the earthquake in south-eastern Turkey, based on the Law Concerning Dispatch of the Japan Disaster Relief Team. To be specific, one SDF aircraft is scheduled to depart for Pakistan, as early as 14th, to transport emergency relief supplies, including tents located in Pakistan, to Turkey. Japan provides 0.37 million USD for improvement of conservation and exhibition capacity of Taxila Museum 

Islamabad, February 10, 2023 (PPI-OT):The Government of Japan has agreed to provide new grant assistance worth 48.8 million Japanese Yen (equivalent to around 0.37 million USD/ around 101.6 million PKR) for enhancement of the antiquities conservation and exhibition capacity of Taxila Museum. On February 10, 2023, a signing ceremony for the assistance was held at the Ministry of Economic Affairs in Islamabad. H.E.
