Sindh government and Siemens signs deal

Karachi, August 16, 2016 (PPI-OT):Sindh government and Siemens signed a MoU to work together in energy sector today at the Cm House. Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah was chief guest in the signing ceremony. Under the MoU up-gradation, modernization of existing energy infrastructure and development of new infrastructure for power generation and energy transmission and distribution capability and capacity of the power network especially for 500 kv, 220kv and 132 kv would be made.

Under the MoU both the parties would identify various energy projects in the province, including up-gradation modernization, maintenance and development of new infrastructure for energy generation, transmission, distribution, smart grid system and solutions. The MoU says that the Siemens would provide solutions for the grid stations , new as well as augmentation, flexible AC transmission system (FACTS), high voltage DC transmission systems upto 800 KV and portable power solutions upto 420 kv.

It also says Siemens would provide solutions that comprehensively covers the introduction and integration of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) with advanced distribution management system (ADMS). According to MoU the Siemens would assist the Sindh government to identify resources as well s various funding sources options, national and international, in order to assist the government to achieve the objective.
