Shehbaz Sharif hosts a ceremony to honour officers from different departments who exhibited spectacular performance

Lahore, May 27, 2018 (PPI-OT): Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif said that provincial government has carved a new history regarding public service while working as a team. Officers have worked hard with commitment and dedication for the completion of welfare projects. He said that it was due to their hard work and enduring efforts that we have successfully achieved our goals. He also paid tribute to the hard work and professional skills of officers. Chief Minister expressed these views while addressing a ceremony being held today at Model Town in the honor of officers of different departments of Punjab who have exhibited outstanding performance in their fields.

He also presented commendatory certificates to the officers of Punjab. While addressing the ceremony, CM said that this event has been organized in the honor of such people whose hard work and discipline made it possible for Punjab government to move forward their development projects successfully. You have worked hard in this field and set new trends of honesty, he added and further said that Punjab government has selflessly served the people in last five years and its initiatives for public healthcare will be written in golden words in the history.

He said that these officers have performed their duties in most appropriate way and people appreciate their performance. He said that real progress can be witnessed in every city in Punjab including Lahore. Different departments and organizations of Punjab government have earned their name through hard work and demonstrating their duties despite of all the challenges. Your hard work is national service and we all have to differentiate between good and bad. He said that no society can progress until there is encouragement for those who are doing well and accountability for other ones. He said that our brave police officers have embraced martyrdom.

Brave officers like Capt. (R) Mubeen Shaheed have sacrificed their lives for the motherland and whole nation is proud of such police officers. Furthermore, he added that health facilities have been improved in Punjab in a record period. He said that orange line metro train was also a great public welfare project but PTI created undue delay in it. If those hindrances were not created by then orange line metro train would have been operational today. Tehrik-e-Insaaf has proved itself an enemy of public for delaying of 22 months. Punjab government has made the bidders to offer lowest bidding rate of 75 billion rupees in orange line metro train project and we have saved this money for Pakistan and people of Punjab.

This is actually a minor effort to serve Pakistan and nation will always remember it. He said that this is not the success of me alone but the credit goes to the collective efforts of our team. We have saved three billion rupees of the nation in safe city project. This public service and saving money of public is a crime then I will commit this crime again and again, he vowed. Chief Minister said that in order to achieve highest objective of Pakistan we all have to be united. Due to our efforts the darkness of load-shedding has been eliminated from the country and we saved a huge amount Rs. 150 billion in gas-based power plants.

Four projects of Gas-based power plants being installed in Punjab are examples of transparency and quality. While conversing with the officers, he said that they have changed the destiny of Punjab with their hard work, honesty and dedication for which he salutes to them. Chief Minister said that there is no such example in the history of the country that we have completed public welfare projects with high speed and standard.

He said that capacity of government institutions has been increased by promoting information technology in the province and we have yielded positive results in education, health, agriculture and other social sectors. He said that the role of Punjab Information Technology Board is commendable in this regard. We have promoted corruption free culture in Punjab. He said that development projects have been completed in a transparent manner. All of you have set a new world with their hard work and passion for public service, he shared. CM said that the duties were carried out with hard work, therefore, people are benefiting due the timely completion of these mega projects.
