Shehbaz Sharif holds meeting to review progress on Safe City Project

Lahore, October 19, 2017 (PPI-OT):The Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said work on safe city project in Lahore is being done speedily and the project is moving towards its completion rapidly. The safe city project will be an example of its own with regard to its quality and transparency and third-party validation of this project will also be done.

The project will play an effective role for the protection of life and property of the people. He said that use of latest technology is need of the hour to further improve the law and order situation, adding Punjab government is pursuing the policy of vigorously promoting latest technology in public sector institutions to enhance their service delivery. He said this while addressing the meeting through the video link. The meeting reviewed progress on safe city project in Lahore and other cities.

The Chief Minister observed that role of safe city project is pivotal in securing cities and overcoming crimes and added that this project should be moved further in an organized manner by working as a team. He said that work is in full swing on safe city project in Lahore and other major cities of the province and directed that continuous monitoring of implementation speed of the project be ensured.

ACS (Home) briefed the meeting about the implementation of safe city project and other relevant issues. Provincial Minister Ayub Gadhi, Advisor Rana Maqbool, Chief Secretary, IG Police, Chairman P and D, secretaries of concerned departments and high officials attended the meeting from Civil Secretariat through the video link.
