Amritsar, October 15, 2019 (PPI-OT): The chief of the top Sikh body, Akal Takht, has called for a ban on the extremist Hindu organization Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. Akal Takht chief Giani Harpreet Singh during a media interaction in Amritsar said that the RSS is the ideological mentor of the BJP which rules India. He said that the activities of the RSS would hurt, divide and destroy India.
In occupied Kashmir, residents on fixed cell phone contracts were surprised to find that they had been billed for the two-month, which witnessed communications blackout imposed by India on August 05. Shafqat Bukhari, a resident from Srinagar, told media that he was disgusted to be billed for the more than 70 days that his phone was unusable during the blackout.
The Kashmiri Pandits have demanded the restoration of the statehood after the abrogation of Article 370 and the bifurcation of occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Satish Mahaldar, coordinator for migrant Pandits in a statement during his visit to Srinagar pledged that they would continue to fight till Kashmir’s special status was restored.
