Repressive measures in Pulwama condemned

Srinagar, January 15, 2016 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir National Front (JKNF) and the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Freedom League (JKPFL) have condemned the continued repressive measures by the authorities in Pulwama. The JKNF Chairman, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, who is under house detention in Srinagar in a statement issued in Srinagar expressed serious concern over the imperialistic approach of the puppet administration in Pulwama resulting in psychological pressure on local youths and huge losses to the business fraternity.

Nayeem Ahmad Khan strongly condemned the backtracking of the administration from its word with residents to release the arrested youth and allow installation of a hoarding in a local park. He said that local administration of Kashmir had proved itself a collaborator of New Delhi by backtracking from the agreements made with the common people.

He said that the demand of the people of Pulwama is genuine as erecting of a banner or hoarding is not any crime. The JKPFL General Secretary, Mohammad Ramzan Khan in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the sacrifices of martyrs were the precious asset of Kashmiris, adding that the demand of Pulwama people for martyrs’ memorial was just. He also praised the people of Pulwama for their steadfastness.
