Qazi Yasir asks world to take notice of worsening situation in IOK

Srinagar, January 18, 2016 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Ummat-e-Islami Chairman Qazi Ahmad Yasir has criticized the authorities for not allowing Hurriyet leaders to reach out to the people to express their viewpoint on Kashmir dispute and other issues in a peaceful and democratic way.

Qazi Ahmad Yasir addressing a big Milaad rally in Islamabad said such brutal tactics only strengthen the struggle despite Indian funding and support to the anti-freedom and anti-Kashmiri people. He emphasized that people were not interested in whosoever would form the government. “It has always been a futile show for general public in Kashmir. No matter who forms the government, Kashmiris will be brutalized, murdered and arrested,” he added.

“The puppet administration may change, but the situation on the ground will never change,” he said and added the situation on the ground is getting worse with number of detentions increasing every day. He appealed to the international community to take stock of the worsening situation in the territory.

He said that peace in the South would remain a distant dream unless the Kashmir dispute was resolved according to the aspirations of the people. He also demanded the release of all illegally detained Hurriyet leaders including Masarrat Aalam Butt, Ghulam Qadir Butt, Mehmood Topiwaal, Dr. Qasim Faktoo, Dr. Mohammad Shafi Shariyati, Irfan Khan, Fayaz Ahmed Talaq and Misbah Ahmed.

Thousands of people participated in the Milaad rally which marched on the streets of the district. The rally was commemorated to highlight the magnanimous character of the beloved Prophet (PBUH). Qazi Yasir said the Muslim Ummah needs to uphold the teachings of the Beloved Prophet.

Muslims throughout the globe including Kashmiris are facing crisis only because we have alienated ourselves from the teachings of the Prophet. “Our troubles are mostly self-made and the only ingredient is rigidness and intolerance” he added.
