Qamar Zaman Chaudhry chairs meeting to review work plan of National Accountability Bureau Multan

Multan, March 28, 2015 (PPI-OT): Mr. Qamar Zaman Chaudhry, Chairman NAB chaired a meeting to review work plan of NAB Multan Bureau for the year 2015 in order to enhance the performance of NAB Multan Bureau on the basis of quantified grading system which has been devised first time in NAB’s history.

The Chairman NAB said that NAB is Pakistan’s apex anti-corruption organization which is assigned with the responsibility of elimination of corruption through a holistic approach of awareness, prevention and enforcement. He said establishment of NAB Multan Bureau is very significant as NAB Multan Bureau would not only address the complaints of three divisions of South Punjab including Multan, Bahawalpur and Dera Ghazi Khan regarding corruption but also help in eradication of corruption.

During the meeting, DG NAB Multan Bureau briefed about the current situation of complaints and informed that 3500 complaints have been received so far related to alleged corruption and informed that a separate complaint cell has been established. Its number is 061-111-622 ha-622 which has been widely publicized in the area. He informed that a police station has been established in addition to prisoner cells and interrogation rooms. The forensic requirements will be met through NAB Rawalpindi’s Forensic Science Lab.

The Chairman NAB, Mr. Qamar Zaman Chaudhry appreciated the efforts of all Officers/Officials of NAB Multan under the supervision of DG NAB Multan for establishment of NAB Regional Bureau at Multan and directed all ranks of NAB Multan Bureau to put their best efforts to arrest corrupts and Proclaimed Offenders (P0s). He further directed all Officers/Officials to work honestly, vigilantly and diligently in order to curb corruption and corrupt practices transparently on merit.
