Punjab Chief Minister directs to constitute Cabinet Committee to review Fire Safety recommendations

Lahore, May 04, 2017 (PPI-OT): Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif chaired a high level meeting here today in which future strategy for execution of steps regarding fire safety were reviewed. The meeting implored eternal peace for the deceased fire fighters who embraced martyrdom while performing their duties also the Chief Minister accorded approval to Martyrs Package for those brave fighters. Shehbaz Sharif directed to setup a cabinet committee to review the recommendations regarding fire safety and present final plan within 07 days. Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister said that these firefighters embracing martyrdom while performing their duties are our heroes and it is the duty of the government to look after their families and added that Government will discharge this obligation in an efficient manner.

He said that newly constructed buildings need full implementation of concocted fire safety steps while old buildings additionally need to pick these fundamental estimations. Shehbaz Sharif directed to devise an extensive arrangement so as to stop fire ejection episodes and essentially it’s monitoring and checking framework needs to be compelling one. DG Rescue 1122 gave briefing with regard to fire safety. Provincial Minister PDMA Mehar Ijaz Ahmed Ichlana, Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary Home, Secretary Law, Commissioner Lahore Division, Lord Mayor Lahore, concerned authorities and high officials attended the meeting while Secretary Housing joined the meeting through video link.
