Islamabad: Pakistan has made great progress since 1947. Pakistan stands tall among the comity of nations. Pakistan is a hub of foreign investment. Our rich mineral resources, oil and gas potential, power and energy sector, agriculture, and massive potential in the field of housing are attracting multinational companies from all over the world. This was stated by the High Commissioner of Pakistan Syed Hasan Javed on the flag hoisting ceremony held at the residence of the High Commissioner, in Singapore, says a press release received here today from Singapore.
He emphasized that, Pakistan’s work force offers competitive labour eager to develop our country. The empowerment of women in Pakistan has today resulted in women as fighter pilots in Pakistan’s Air Force, women as soldiers in our Armed Forces and women with an increased presence in our national and provincial legislatures.
Addressing the Pakistani community, Pakistani students studying in different universities of Singapore and the families of High Commission’s officers and staff, H.E Javed said, Pakistan offers a safe haven for investors for re-location of their industries and business with long term profit sustainability. Pakistan has 700 multinational companies. More and more ASEAN companies are showing interest in Pakistan. The World Bank’s recent ‘Ease of doing business 2010’ Report puts Singapore on the top of global ranking with Pakistan on the top in South Asia. Pakistan is the future success story of Asia.
The High Commissioner highlighted the efforts of Pakistan’s bankers, pilots and shipping magnets in the formative phase of Singapore. We in Pakistan are happy to see Singapore’s achievements as it is a fellow Asian country with whom we have shared values, understanding, respect and partnerships in several areas. Pakistan and Singapore friendship is deeper, older and stronger, rooted in the hearts of our people.
On this occasion the messages of President and Prime Minister of Pakistan were read out and national anthem was also played. The flag hoisting ceremony was concluded by offering dua for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan its people.
A large number of Pakistani community, Pakistani students studying in different universities of Singapore and the families of High Commission’s officers and staff, attended the ceremony.
