Pakistan Army volleyball team wins series against Sri Lankan Army Light Infantry team

Islamabad, June 07, 2016 (PPI-OT):The Pakistan Army Volleyball Team, which was in Sri Lanka to participate in the Inter-Regiment Volleyball Championship 2016, won the championship against Sri Lankan Light Infantry team, says a press release received here today from Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Commandant, Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force, Major General Channa Goonetilleke, was the chief guest on the occasion and distributed prizes to winning and runners-up teams. Pakistan Army Volleyball Team took part as a foreign country for the first time in the history of this championship, on the invitation of Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force.

The Inter-Regiment Volleyball Championship 2016 was organized by the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force. The championships serve as the launch pad for national and international recognition of talented sportsmen and women, besides generating healthy sporting competitions.
