Srinagar, December 01, 2016 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, the High Court has asked the Indian government as well as the puppet administration to file objections over a petition by the family of a contractual lecturer who was killed by Army in custody in Khrew area of Pulwama this year.
A bench of the High Court, hearing the petition, issued notice to the Indian government through its Home Secretary, the puppet administration through Financial Commissioner, Home Department, Director General of Police, General officer commanding of RR 50 and other authorities.
Wife of the deceased lecturer, Shabbir Ahmad of Sharshali village of Tehsil Pampore in Pulwama district approached the court through her counsel, Muhammad Ashraf Wani, seeking time-bound investigation in the case related to the killing of her husband, besides compensation.
After hearing the counsel, the court granted three weeks to the respondents for filing objections to the petition. Ahmad was killed in custody by personnel of 50 Rashtriya Rifles on August 7 after his abduction during the intervening night of August 17-18 this year.
Police Station, Pampore, subsequently registered an FIR on September 1 under sections 302, 364, 307, 447, 427 and 120-B of RPC.
