Nominated Mayor Karachi meets Karachi Metropolitan Corporation Administrator

Karachi, May 11, 2016 (PPI-OT):KMC Administrator and District Returning Officer Laeeq Ahmed said the process of scrutiny for reserve seats in the local government election was completed now without any problem. He expressed these views on meeting with the nominated Mayor of Karachi Mr. Waseem Akhtar who came to Civic Centre as the proposer for a nominated city councillor on Wednesday and on this occasion he also called on KMC Administrator Laeeq Ahmed.

Later while talking to media representatives Mr. Waseem Akhtar said they wish that the local government election process could complete within the period fixed by the Supreme Court and the elected representatives of people play their role under an elected local bodies system.

Administrator Laeeq Ahmed said KMC will continue to pay the salary of those 635employees who had been repatriated to various departments under the Supreme Court Orders till the time their salary was started disbursing by the concerned departments. He said this process was underway under which more lists will be released and the process will not be stopped till receiving written directive in this connection.

Administrator Karachi said the full scrutiny of service record and personal files of 27 thousand KMC employees was being carried out and that started from 1994. This would take some time therefore the officers and their subordinates should be patient as no one would be subjected to discrimination and every official would be treated equally. He said the uplift process in the city was underway to provide better civic facilities to citizens besides improving the human resources management in the organization so that KMC could play its effective role in serving the people.
