No one to be allowed to steal water: Mushtaq Shah

Karachi, July 17, 2018 (PPI-OT): Provincial Caretaker Minister for Irrigation, Public Health Engineering and Rural Development , Inter Provincial Coordination and Excise and Taxation Mushtaq Ahmed Shah has said that overall water supply situation in canals is satisfactory, however steps are being taken to stop the incidents of water theft to provide relief to the growers especially to those who are at the tails. This he said while presiding over a meeting in his office on Tuesday.

Secretary Irrigation Jamal Mustafa Syed also attended the meeting. It was informed in the meeting that in couple of days 46 FIRs have been lodged against persons for being involved in water stealing cases and barriers were removed at 43 sites in Khairpur Mirs, Badin and Umerkot districts during joint operation, conducted by Irrigation officials , Rangers and Police. The Provincial Caretaker minister Mushtaq Shah expressed his satisfaction over the action against water thieves and asked to speed up the raids against those who were involved in water theft.
