National Accountability Bureau Lahore arrests accused persons Muhammad Ibrahim Majoka and Hashmat Ali Kazmi

Lahore, May 19, 2016 (PPI-OT):NAB Lahore has arrested accused persons Muhammad Ibrahim Majoka, EX-CEO GEPCO, and Hashmat Ali Kazmi, Ex-HR and Admin Director GEPCO, in a case against them. The accused persons have been arrested on allegations of misuse of authority. Accused person Muhammad Ibrahim Majoka implemented the instructions received from Tahir Bashrat Cheema, EX-MD PEPCO, without seeking approval of the Board of Directors and allowed selection on the basis of walk-in-interview basis.

The accused person Hashmat Ali Kazmi, in contradiction of the advertisement and laid down criteria, paved the way for recruitment of candidates from outside the Gujranwala Division. Both the accused persons did so without lawful authority to do so and thus violated the laid down rules and committed the offence of misuse of authority. A 14 days’ physical remand of the accused persons have been given to NAB. Moreover, in the same case, accused person Tahir Basharat Cheema, EX-MD PEPCO, has already been arrested by NAB.
