Islamabad, July 27, 2017 (PPI-OT):Mr. Qamar Zaman Chaudhry, Chairman NAB has said that NAB’s effective Anti-Corruption Strategy Started yielding Excellent results. NAB has introduced state of the Art Monitoring and Evaluation System to improve its performance as well as to have measurable impact on expected outcomes and to implement them effectively. NAB is committed to work with absolute professionalism, transparently and on merit by adopting Zero Tolerance Policy across the board. He said these remarks while chairing a meeting to review latest progress on NAB’s Monitoring and Evaluation System (MES) at NAB Headquarter.

During the meeting, Advisor to Chairman on Monitoring and Evaluation (M and E) gave presentation regarding the latest progress on the working of Monitoring and Evaluation System (MES) in NAB and its efficacy in future. He informed that on the directions of Chairman, NAB has developed an effective Monitoring and Evaluation System (MES) catering to the needs of all concerned having salient features of maintenance of data at each stage including complaint entry, complaint verification, inquiry, investigation, prosecution stage and record proceedings of Regional Board Meetings and Executive Board Meetings including case brief, decisions made.

It also has the ability to analyse data in qualitative and quantitative terms having warnings and alarms system for violators. He said that in line with the vision and initiatives taken after assumption of responsibilities as Chairman NAB, Mr. Qamar Zaman Chaudhry, NAB has taken a new initiative named “Citizen Friendly NAB” in order to reach out to the complainants and to cater their complaints submitted to NAB against corrupt for further information regarding the status of their complaints for effectively utilizing the modern and effective technology to create better interaction with citizen.

Under “Citizen Friendly NAB” initiative, existing Monitoring and Evaluation System (MES) is ready to generate a system based complaint registration acknowledgement system to share the information with complainants along with Unique Identification Number (UIN). He said that system based complaint registration acknowledgement initiative will facilitate the complainant for complaint registration date at NAB and to track the latest progress of complaint by providing a Monitoring and Evaluation System (MES) generated Unique Identification Number (UIN).

Mr. Qamar Zaman Chaudhry, Chairman NAB said that NAB is a complaint driven organization, the main purpose of “Citizen Friendly NAB” initiative is not only to help the complainants to track down the status of their complaints submitted to NAB but will also enable NAB to be more transparent and responsive in term of interaction with complainants and tracking the complaint progress by using modern technology for better interaction with citizen through “Citizen Friendly NAB” which will further help in improving the confidence level on NAB and also ensure transparent, fair and merit based working of NAB.

The Chairman NAB said that Monitoring and Evaluation System providing the necessary data to guide strategic planning and facilitating in further improving performance and achieving results to improve current and future management of outputs, outcomes and impact. He said that Monitoring and Evaluation System (MES) is an important management tool to track progress and it facilitates in decision making as well as establishes links between the past, present and future actions. He directed all concerned for further coordinate and decisions taken should be implemented in letter and spirit in order to further improvement in institutionalizing the support and supervision at different levels of management in NAB.

The Chairman NAB appreciated Advisor MES and his team for their valuable contribution in introducing state of the Art MES system in NAB. He reiterated that NAB is committed to eradicate corruption with absolute professionalism, transparently and on merit. He said that all Regional Bureaus of NAB have implemented Monitoring and Evaluation System (MES) in the light of the outcome of pilot project completed in NAB Rawalpindi in letter and spirit and are conducting all complaint verifications, inquiries and investigation as per laid down laws/SOPs and on merit.
