Mirwaiz pays tributes to martyrs, visits damaged shrine

Srinagar, October 29, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has paid rich tributes to the martyred youth, Afaqullah Butt and Abdul Mannan Dar, saying that the sacrifices of these martyrs are the asset of the Kashmir resistance movement. Afaqullah Butt Abdul from Pulwama and Abdul Mannan Dar from Shopian were martyred by Indian troops in Pulwama district on Monday. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “Kashmiris’ sacrifices of lives and properties for the right to self-determination will not be allowed to go waste.”

Meanwhile, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq visited Jamia Masjid and Khanqah-e-Mualla in Srinagar to take a firsthand account of the damages caused by the Monday’s earthquake. The Mirwaiz, who is also the Chairman of the Anjuman-e-Auqaf Jamia Masjid, said the need of the hour is to take stock of our lives and deeds and pray to Almighty Allah for forgiveness.

On the occasion, the Khankah-e-Mualla administration briefed the Mirwaiz about the damage caused to the shrine, following which he urged the Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board to carry out repairs of the damaged dome at the earliest. The Mirwaiz would address a Friday congregation at Jamia Masjid Kangan tomorrow, the statement added.
