Islamabad, October 16, 2015 (PPI-OT): The Ministry of Commerce will conduct interviews for the selection of trade officers for Pakistan’s missions abroad through Special Selection Board (SSB) next week. Lahore University of Management and Sciences (LUMS) conducted the written test for selection of trade officers in May this year and the result was announced on 15th October. A total of 264 candidates both from public and private sectors appeared in the written test on 24th May out of which 62 have passed the test.
SSB as constituted by the Prime Minister for the interviews of trade officers comprises Federal Minister for Commerce as Chairperson of the Board while the members include Secretary Commerce, Secretary Establishment, Secretary Foreign Affairs, Secretary Board of investment and Chief Executive Trade Development Authority of Pakistan.
Secretary Commerce added that the selection of trade officers is made through a rigorous process of written test and interview by a high-level panel. He added that the interviews will be conducted in a transparent manner and the trade officers will be recruited purely on merit based upon the laid down criteria.
