Islamabad, May 03, 2016 (PPI-OT):Meeting with PBA (Pakistan Broadcasters Association) and CAP (Cable Operators Association of Pakistan) scheduled at PEMRA Headquarters on May 3, 2016 has been postponed on the requests received from various cable operators. The meeting was scheduled to discuss modalities for digitalization of Cable TV in the country.
PEMRA has approached different groups of cable TV operators in order to create consensus among them on the issue of digitalization so that it is completed without any controversy among the stakeholders. Next meeting will be held on May 11, 2016 at 11.30 am at PEMRA headquarters, Islamabad. PEMRA has urged all the groups of cable TV operators to end differences and develop consensus for making digitalization a reality and developing workable synergy among all the stakeholders.
A delegation of PBA also called on Chairman PEMRA today. PBA was conveyed the decision regarding postponement of meeting for few days. A delegation of cable operators also met the Chairman PEMRA separately and assured their cooperation in reaching a consensus. PEMRA is determined for digitalization of cable TV networks in the country and extends its earnest support in achieving this landmark.
