Karachi, March 23, 2018 (PPI-OT): Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar paid a visit of Mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammed Ali Jinnah on the morning of Pakistan Day on 23rd March to pay homage to the founder of the country on behalf of citizens of Karachi. He was accompanied by municipal commissioner Dr. Asghar Abbas, chairman law committee Arif Khan Advocate, chairman charged parking committee Muhammed Mursaleen, chairperson Ethics Code of Conduct Committee Qurat-ul-Ain Khan, senior director coordination Masood Alam, director media management Ali Hassan Sajid and other officers.
Mayor Karachi laid floral wreath on the Mazar and offered fateha. Afterwards he registered his thoughts in the visitors’ book. While talking to media representatives on this occasion, Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar said that 23rd March is the brightest and very important day in our history when the historical Pakistan Movement launched after the passing of the Pakistan Resolution. He said this day reminds us to reiterate our pledge that we are ready to give any sacrifice for our home land and would do whatever possible for the progress of our country.
He said we as Pakistanis need to work jointly for the betterment of our city and country. He said Karachi is hosting the final of PSL on 25th March which is an honor for this city. All the citizens are waiting for the moments to see their favourite players in action. Mayor Karachi said the Government has now started giving funds to KMC and the city conditions have now beginning to improve, however the garbage condition is still not satisfactory and the solid waste management board has this responsibility to clear this garbage as far as KMC is concern we are working on our roads. He said different organizations including law enforcement agencies, fire brigade and others have been given tasks for PSL final and KMC has been given the work of beautification in the city.
