Man names BJP MLA in suicide note before taking life in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, January 02, 2023 (PPI-OT):A 47-year-old man committed suicide by shooting himself in the head in Indian state of Karnatka leaving a note blaming a BJP MLA for his suicidal act. The man committed suicide after he shot himself in Bengaluru city and a note he left behind blamed six people, including Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Aravind Limbavali for harassing him, forcing him to take the extreme step.

The man, identified as S Pradeep, had invested Rs 1.2 crore in a club in Bengaluru in 2018 after being persuaded by two of the men he named in the note. They had promised to pay him back a sum of Rs 3 lakh every month, including a salary for working for the club.

However, after taking the money, the two men, Gopi and Somiaha, refused to pay back Pradeep for several months, said the suicide note. The note also states that Pradeep had to take multiple loans to repay the interest and even had to sell his house and agricultural land to make payments. Despite multiple pleas, the men did not return the money to Pradeep. So, Pradeep took the issue to BJP MLA Aravind Limbavali, stated the note.

The letter also accuses a doctor, Jayaram Reddy, of filing a civil case against Pradeep’s brother’s property and mentally torturing and harassing Pradeep. According to the police, the suicide note was found in his car and it named six people, including the BJP MLA. Police officials have registered a case and started investigations.
