Library Committee holds literary event

Karachi, May 08, 2018 (PPI-OT): Literary seat event was hosted by library committee arts council of Pakistan Karachi on 7th May 8, 2018 which was firmly desired to honor Pakistani poets who now resides abroad which includes Munif Ashar Malihabadi (Canada), Prof. Razia Subhan (America), Ishrat Moen Seema (Germany) and Dr. Sabiha Saba (America). Session was chaired by one of the renown poetess Sabiha Saba where Prof. Haroon Rasheed was the chief guest.

In his opening speech, chairman of library committee Sohail Ahmed said that this evening is hosted to pay tributes to our respected poets who even after residing abroad, working and struggling for the development and growth of Urdu literate. He further said all these guests deserve to be honored for their contributions for as an ambassador of Urdu Language on foreign lands.

In her presidential address, Sabiha Saba said that today we are surrounded by wonderful and extraordinary people and we are honored by their presence here at arts council of Pakistan Karachi. She also congratulated chairman library committee Sohail Ahmed for hosting an amazing event. She further paid her tribute to the guests of that evening.

Admired the efforts of arts council of Pakistan, special guest for the occasion, Prof. Haroon Rasheed said that today we need more events like this to be hosted for the betterment and development of Urdu language. He also appreciated Sohail Ahmed for his contributed efforts on hosting multiple literary events.

During the session, the honorary guests of the evening Munif Ashar Malihabadi, Prof. Razia Subhan, Ishrat Moen Seema presented their Ghazals and got tremendous applause from the audience. In concluding ceremony, all the poets residing abroad were presented with flower bouquet and famous Pakistani singer Waheed Khayal concluded the session by Singing the Ghazals of honorary guests.
