Khurram Parvez shifted to JIC Jammu: JKCCS

Srinagar, November 30, 2016 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Coalition of Civil Society (JKCCS) has said that the puppet authorities have shifted the illegally detained noted human rights activist and its Coordinator, Khurram Parvez, from Kot Bhalwal Jail to the Joint Interrogation Centre at Meeran Sahib in Jammu, despite a court order quashing his detention.

A JKCCS spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that a copy of the order of High Court of the occupied territory quashing the detention of Khurram Parvez was served to the jail authorities at Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu on Tuesday afternoon to seek his immediate release. He said that instead of releasing him, Khurram Parvez was taken from Kot Bhalwal Jail in the evening by the Indian police to the Joint Interrogation Centre at Meeran Sahib, Jammu.

“No information regarding the grounds of continued detention was provided to Khurram Parvez or to his legal counsel,” the JKCCS statement said.
