Kargil to observe protest strike tomorrow

Kargil, August 04, 2020 (PPI-OT): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Kargil will observe a protest strike on Wednesday (5th of August) against its separation from Jammu and Kashmir and repeal of special status of Kashmir by Modi government on that day, last year.

Various political and religious bodies have described the division of Jammu and Kashmir into two union territories as darkest chapter in history of the occupied territory.

A statement issued after a joint meeting of the region’s two main political parties National Conference and Congress announced that the two parties will shortly formulate a future course of action for launching a movement for reintegration of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. The joint meeting was attended by NC leader Qamar Ali Akhoon and Congress leader Asghar Ali Karbalaie.

These two parties have strongly condemned the division of the Jammu and Kashmir and appealed for reintegration of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. They have strongly condemned the loss of social and political rights of the people of Ladakh and its cultural identity as a result of the August 5th 2019 decision. They also decided that in the very near future, they will formulate a future course of action in this regard. They have appealed to the general public and the religious and social institutions of the Kargil to wholeheartedly extend their support to the coming action plan in the interest of the region.

Earlier, a religious body Anjuman-e-Sahab Zaman had also issued an appeal calling for a complete shutdown across Kargil.

“People of Kargil condemn and reject what was taken without the consent of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and against their aspirations. Our struggle to get justice will continue,” the Anjuman said. Modi-led fascist government had annulled the special status of Jammu and Kashmir and divided it into two union territories on August 5 last year.
