Srinagar, March 18, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, APHC leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement, Zafar Akbar Butt, has hailed the resolution on Kashmir passed by the National Assembly of Pakistan.
Zafar Akbar Butt in a statement issued in Srinagar thanked the Pakistani parliamentarians for unanimously passing the resolution in National Assembly supporting the Kashmiris’ just struggle for securing their inalienable right to self-determination.
He hoped that the country would take every step to mobilise the world opinion to build pressure on India for return of the mortal remains of Shaheed Muhammad Afzal Guru to his family and stop continued gross human rights violations in the occupied territory.
The APHC leader said that the continued moral, political and diplomatic support of Pakistan to the Kashmir cause was a source of inspiration for the people of Kashmir.
He also strongly denounced the continued detention of senior APHC leader, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, under draconian law, Public Safety Act, and shifting him to Kot Bhalwal jail in Jammu from Srinagar central jail and crackdown on other leaders and activists.
