JKLF slams detention of Yasin Malik, others

Srinagar, September 17, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) has denounced the continued detention of its Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik and other leaders in the territory. A JKLF spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar, today, said, “Yasin Malik along with other leaders including Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri, Muhammad Amin Mughal and Shabir Ahmad Dabla is still lodged at police station Sopore.”

They were arrested while travelling to Sopore to express solidarity with the bereaved families of those martyred at Pattan on September 14. “The oppression and suppression have touched new heights and even expressing condolences to the bereaved families has been banned by Mufti-led regime.

The so-called rulers by imposing a blanket ban on peaceful political activities are promoting violence and pushing Kashmiris against the wall,” the statement added. Meanwhile, JKLF has paid tributes to Sheikh Yasir Rafiq alias Raja of Maisuma, who was martyred police firing in 2010. Yasir was cousin of Yasin Malik.
