Jamaat-e-Islami in IOK denounces India’s atrocities

Srinagar, July 30, 2016 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has strongly denounced the fresh killing spree by Indian forces and detention of the entire Hurriyet leadership and described it the worst kind of state terrorism. The JI spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Indian troops were using lethal weapons including pellet gun on peaceful protesters in the territory which was unjust and violation of the international law.

He deplored that the Indian forces had killed over 60 innocent people and injured more than 6,000 in the territory after the martyrdom of the commander of Hizbul Mujahideen, Burhan Muzaffar Wani. He said that Indian forces’ personnel were barging into houses, ransacking household goods and beating up the women and children. The spokesman appealed to the United Nations and the international community not to remain a mute spectator over the Indian state terrorism in occupied Kashmir and play their role in halting these cruelties and also put pressure on New Delhi to peacefully settle the Kashmir dispute.
