Peshawar, May 04, 2019 (PPI-OT): The Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr. Muhammad Naeem Khan has said that the valour, bravery and gallantry acts exhibited by the force against the terrorists and anti-state element would go a long way in the annal of history. This, he said, while presiding over the first ever RPOs and DPOs conference of the Newly Merged Districts (NMDs) at police headquarters today.
The IGP termed the conference a mile stone in the history of policing in the NMDs. RPOs, DPOs and high ranking officials of the former Levies and Khasadars largely attended the conference. The police chief warmly welcomed the former Levies and Khasadar and congratulated them on participating in the august forum. The conference thread barely discussed the salary disbursement mechanism, budgetary allocation, Infrastructure, Police uniform, fuel charges and other issues.
On this occasion it was directed to further carry on the steps and strategy adopted in the light of previous meetings held in this connection. The RPOs, DPOs presented power point briefings to the chair. Addressing the conference, the IGP informed that the forces based in the tribal belt had performed their duty as a front line of defence against the dreaded terrorist and in the process rendered voluminous sacrifices of their precious lives. The IGP termed the induction of the former Levies and Khasadars in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police a big success.
He said that it was a matter of great pride for him to command such a brave force who effectively held the enemies on back foot. He also hoped that on merger both forces would benefit from each other’s rich experiences and would take exemplary steps for maintenance of law and order in NMDs. The Police Chief further elaborated that the former Levies and Khasadars are an integral part of the police force and keeping in view their rich experience and professionalism in the volatile region, measures would be adopted for maintenance of law and order with their consultation.
The IGP revealed that the direction had been set for policing in the NMDs and now time has come to take practical steps for its implementation in letter and spirit. The IGP assured that now services matters of the former Levies and Khasadars would not be decided behind closed doors, rather they would be taken on board and due weightage would be given to their suggestions and opinion.
The IGP pointed out that all basic necessities of the force would be met on priority basis for effective policing in the NMDs so as to enable the police to perform its professional duty as per attached expectations of the local dwellers. The IGP also issued necessary instructions to the concerned police high ups in the light of detailed briefing.
