Indian troops martyr three youth in IOK

Srinagar, May 17, 2016 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops, in their fresh acts of state terrorism, martyred three youth in Shopian, Kupwara and Poonch districts. The troops killed one youth identified as Farooq Ahmad Sheikh during a siege and search operation at Pahlipora in Shopian. Police claimed that the killed youth was a member of Hizbul Mujahideen. The troops killed two more youth in Kupwara and Poonch districts.

Meanwhile, thousands of people attended the funeral prayers of martyred youth Farooq Ahmad Sheikh at Nazneenpora in Shopian, today. Hurriyet leaders and activists including Farooq Ahmad Tawheedi and activists of Tehreek-e-Hurriyet and Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement participated in the funeral prayers. People waved Pakistan’s National flags and raised pro-Pakistan and pro-freedom slogans, on the occasion. An anti-India rally led by APHC leader, Yasmeen Raja, was also held in the area.

The Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar, today, termed the revelations made by Handwara molestation victim girl as reflection of serious crimes perpetrated by men in uniform against women in Kashmir. He urged War Crimes Tribunal of United Nations and human rights organizations to take notice of the situation in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that India was using molestation of women as a weapon of war in the territory.

Speakers including Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Muhammad Yasin Malik and Bilal Ghani Lone addressing a seminar in Srinagar, today, vowed not to allow India to divide people of Jammu and Kashmir on communal lines in the name of separate townships of Pandits and soldier colonies. The event was organized to commemorate Martyrdom Week in connection with the martyrdom anniversaries of prominent liberation leaders, Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq, Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone and martyrs of Hawal.

APHC leaders Shabbir Ahmed Dar, Muhammad Iqbal Mir, Imtiyaz Reshi and human rights defender, Muhammad Ahsan Untoo participated in a blood donation camp organized by Mahaz-e-Azadi in Sopore, today. Senior journalist and President of Journalists’ Association of Assam, DN Chakravartty addressing an event in Guwahati said that India should wash her hands off Kashmir Valley and allow Kashmiri Muslims to take a decision on their own about their destiny.
