Indian police officer misbehaves with CJM in IOK

Srinagar, July 25, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, an Indian police officer misbehaved with Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) of Islamabad, Abdul Nasir Butt. A Sub-Inspector (SI) of the police stopped the vehicle of CJM, Abdul Nasir Butt, near Sarnal locality of KP Road area of the town when he was returning to his official residence along with his family at around 10: 00pm.

As the judicial magistrate revealed his identity, it irked the police officer who along with other cops hurled choicest abuses at him and kept him under illegal confinement for around 30 minutes. He also threatened the CJM and even went on to remind him of the powers police holds.

Meanwhile, the Islamabad Bar Association went on an indefinite strike against the action of the officer terming it as highhandedness of police. Addressing a press conference, the President of the Islamabad Bar Association, Advocate Fayyaz Ahmad Saudagar, demanded that the police official be immediately booked, placed under suspension and probe be ordered into the matter. “The incident clearly indicates that Kashmir is a police state where rule of law is thrown to wind and even the sanctity of judiciary is tormented,” said Fayyaz Ahmad Saudagar.
