Srinagar, August 26, 2015 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, Indian armed agents killed a lecturer, Javaid Ahmad Khan in Pulwama district. The armed men barged into the house of one Javaid Ahmad Khan and killed the lecturer at Khandipora n Awantipora area of the district. Javaid Ahmad Khan Khan was arrested in 2010 on the charge of having links with the Mujahideen and served two years imprisonment under the draconian Public Safety Act (PSA), a police officer told media men.
He also worked as lecturer at BEd College in Guru Nanak College and had escaped unhurt in a firing at his home in February 2014. Javaid’s Brother Ghulam Mohammad alias Gul Khan was also martyred by Indian troops in 2002. On the other hand, shutdown marked by clashes between government forces and protesters at Qaimoh and Khudwani areas of Kulgam district was observed for the fifth day, today, against the arrest of youth by the Indian police and army during nocturnal raids.
Several youth were injured in violent police actions. Meanwhile, at least two people including an elderly man were injured in police actions in Pulwama against the harassment of a girl by a man of Indian Police Special Operations Group. All shops, business establishments, petrol pumps remained closed across the district. The shutdown also affected the movement of traffic.
