Ambassador Munir Akram, Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the UN, made his remarks on the commemoration of Independence Day. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to those who envisioned which inspired and called for the creation of a separate nation for the Muslims of South Asia that vision:

Ambassador Munir Akram If we witness the travails and suffering of our Kashmiri brothers and sisters, and of the Muslims of India we left behind in India. If we see the repression, if we see the hate, which is emanating from New Delhi, in the form of the latest legislation that is abusive, of the independence of Pakistan.

I think we should all understand why we created our nation, and why we must defend it: Ambassador Munir Akram It is for this reason we commemorate this occasion. And I believe that all of you will continue to contribute to the glory and the development of Pakistan unstintingly and the full force of your being: Ambassador Munir Akram I hope, Inshallah, that we will overcome the many challenges we continue to face today, on the economic side, we have to combat the pandemic and defeat the virus. We have to recover our economy from the effects of the pandemic, and to care for the poor and vulnerable, for the women and children of Pakistan, who are facing the brunt of the pandemic and the economic crisis, that it has unleashed.

We are making those efforts, both bilaterally and multilaterally at the United Nations. Pakistan’s response to the pandemic, our Ehsaas program has been recognized as one of the best in the world. And this is a matter of pride for us. We have many challenges. We have the challenge of Afghanistan today, of trying to bring peace in Afghanistan, in a way that will improve the security, not only of Afghanistan, but also of Pakistan, and the region:

Ambassador Munir Akram. We have to develop our economy, and reach rates of growth that will enable us to break through, out of poverty, and the low income status. These are all major challenges we face: Ambassador Munir Akram Apart from the fact that we face a hostile enemy.

An enemy, who has not relented in trying to destabilize Pakistan in trying to threaten our development through various means, Ambassador Munir Akram It is an enemy, which has prevented the people of Jammu and Kashmir, from joining Pakistan, through an exercise of the right of self-determination, which was promised to them by the United Nations Security Council:

Ambassador Munir Akram It will be it will remain our endeavour, as the diplomats of Pakistan, as the representatives of Pakistan at the United Nations, and in New York to work relentlessly for the freedom of Kashmiri and the exercise of the right of self-determination for the Kashmiri people.

We will continue to work for the rapid development of Pakistan, and for stability, unity and peace in Pakistan: Ambassador Munir Akram Senator Rana Mehmud ul Hassan spoke as a guest speaker, he appreciated the role of Pakistan Mission in advancing national objective.
