Islamabad, November 17, 2015 (PPI-OT): The Hurriyet leaders of AJK Chapter have condemned the brutal torture of a woman by Indian troops and continued illegal detention of Syed Ali Gilani, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Ahmad Khan and others in occupied Kashmir. Hurriyet leaders of AJK Chapter including Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Altaf Hussain Wani, Raja Khadim Hussain and Altaf Ahmad Butt in their separate statements in Islamabad while terming torture of a woman in occupied Kashmir as worst form of Indian state terrorism demanded an independent probe into all such incidents of human rights violations.
They appealed to the world human rights bodies to take notice and pressurise India to stop all such incidents of violence. The leaders also denounced the continued detention of veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Nayeem Ahmed Khan and other pro-freedom leaders. Altaf Hussain Wani, the Vice Chairman National Front, expressing serious concern over arrest and deteriorating health of party Chairman, Nayeem Ahmad Khan said that Indian authorities wanted to suppress the voice of dissent in Kashmir by keeping political leadership behind bars.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in a statement strongly condemning the unprovoked and escalated brutal crackdown in Chuntimullah (Bandipora) against the villagers especially beating, and torturing of a woman, Sakeena, and her brothers Ghulam Hassan and Junaid in their houses. He demanded punitive action against the perpetrators and the camp’s immediate removal from the troubled villages of Bandipora and said that the civil administration in Bandipora looks deaf and dumb and was not ready to reprimand army’s unaccountable, detrimental and objectionable role in Bandipora.
Islamic Political Party Chairman Mohammad Yousuf Naqash, Muslim Democratic League leader Hakeem Abdul Rashid, Bilal Siddiqui Chairman Tehreek Mazahmat, Bashir Andrabi Chairman Kashmir Freedom Front in their joint statement have lambasted the occupational forces for unleashing reign of terror especially using torture even against women of Kashmir especially the gruesome incident of torture of women at Bandipora under garb of draconian laws. Chairman, Jammu Kashmir Salvation Movement Zaffar Akbar Butt also condemned the torture of civilians in Bandipora by Indian army and demanded immediate probe of the incident.
