Government, protesters agree to resolve sit-in issue after Law Minister Zahid Hamid’s resignation

Islamabad, November 27, 2017 (PPI-OT): Minister for law and parliamentary affairs Zahid Hamid has tendered resignation. He presented his resignation to the prime minister voluntarily. Zahid Hamid offered the resignation to steer the country out of the prevailing critical situation. He said that the Election Act was formulated by a parliamentary committee comprising members belonging to all political parties.

Zahid Hamid will issue his detailed statements later on. There are reports of understanding between the Government and leadership of sit-in at Faizabad Interchange about peaceful resolution of the sit-in. The protestors appreciated legislative measures taken by the Government to strengthen Khatm-e-Nabuwwat provisions of the law.
