Srinagar, August 09, 2020 (PPI-OT): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders Bilal Ahmad Siddiqui, Shabbir Ahmad Dar and Muhammad Iqbal Mir have paid glowing tributes to prominent Hurriyat martyr, Sheikh Abdul Aziz ahead of his martyrdom anniversary. Sheikh Abdul Aziz was shot dead by Indian troops during 2008 mass agitation against the India’s illegal occupation and economic blockade.
Remembering Sheikh Abdul Aziz and 2008 uprising martyrs, Tehreek-e-Muzahamat Chairman Bilal Ahmed Sidiqui in a statement in Srinagar called martyr Sheikh Aziz a brave and upright leader who devoted his whole life for the cause and sacrificed his precious life for the same. “Our Martyrs are true heroes of freedom struggle and we as a mature nation remember all of them with deep reverence and affection and pledge to continue their mission with honesty and integrity.”
The Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference Chairman, Shabbir Ahmad Dar in a statement in Srinagar said that the martyrdom of Sheikh Abdul Aziz was beacon light for the innocent people of Kashmir. He said that the people of Kashmir had been sacrificing for the last seventy three years and reiterated the pledge to continue liberation struggle till its logical conclusion.
He said that the best way to pay tributes to Sheikh Abdul Aziz and other martyrs was to follow their steps and continue their struggle till complete success. The statement also appreciated the efforts of Pakistani government for highlighting the Indian brutalities on the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Jammu and Kashmir Anjuman Seerat Committee in a statement also paid homage to the Sheikh Abdul Aziz. Khwaja Naeem Al Hassan, Convener of Jammu and Kashmir Anjuman Seerat Committee hoped that as a result of sacrifices of the martyrs, people would one day achieve freedom from India.
