Gilani terms arrests, curbs unjustified on Eid

Srinagar, June 25, 2017 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parities Hurriyet Conference, Syed Ali Gilani has denounced the puppet administration for placing Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Mohammad Yasin Malik, Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai, Ayaz Akbar and scores of other pro-freedom leaders and activists under house arrest ahead of Eidul Fitr.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar, today, terming arbitrary arrests and curbs unjustified said that Muslims community was celebrating Eid in the territory in a gloomy atmosphere. He called restrictions and barring leadership from offering religious obligations on the auspicious Eid as blatant interference in religious matters.

Syed Ali Gilani who is under house arrest since past seven years, said that on this day Muslim Ummah from all over the world are celebrating Eidul Fitr with religious fervour, however the people in Kashmir were reeling under continuous life threats and were subjected to extreme brutalities.

While lashing out at administration, he said almost entire leadership has been put under house arrest. Syed Ali Gilani said unjustifiable restrictions in the holy month of Ramadan speaks the volume about how callousness and heartlessness of puppet rulers.

While referring to Tehreek-e-Hurriyat cadre, he said TeH leaders are particularly subjected to vengeance and were not allowed to offer even Friday prayers. “This is sheer frustration of authorities,” he said and added that it illustrates their sick mindedness and madness.
