Srinagar, May 31, 2017 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, has taken strong exception to recent ridiculous statement of Indian Army Chief, General Bipin Rawat. General Rawat while supporting the brutal act of Indian Army Major Leetal Gogoi and awarding him for tying a Kashmiri youth and using him as a human shield had stated ‘this is a proxy war and it is played in a dirty way’.
Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said, Rawat is a man of Jan Sangh ideology and his statement illustrates his criminal mentality. Referring to the awarding of Major Gogoi and General Rawat’s explanation, he said that the tall claim of India being the largest democracy of the world was nothing but hoax as Indian political and army leadership were following fascist mindset. “Their statements expose their intentions and it testifies our claim that they are giving free licence to their forces against innocent Kashmiri people and assuring full backing and impunity from any accountability for carrying out genocide in Kashmir,” he said.
Syed Ali Gilani pointed out that Indian Army and political leadership wanted to kill every soul in occupied Kashmir. He said that for the last seven decades, Kashmiris had time and again raised voice and expressed concern about the sinister plans of Indian leadership in the occupied territory. “However, no serious steps were taken by the international community whose continuous silence encouraged these forces,” he deplored.
The APHC Chairman said that India’s brutal tactics could not intimidate the Kashmiri people into submission and they would continue their ongoing freedom struggle till it reached its logical conclusion. He said that history was witness that every arrogant power had to go and the lesser or little-known powers made history and emerged as victorious.
Syed Ali Gilani expressed his deep grief over the killing of Hafiz-e-Quran, Sarshad Ahmad, in the firing of Indian forces on peaceful protesters in Tral termed it as the was the worst form of state terrorism. He expressed solidarity with the bereaved family. He also denounced the attack of Indian troops on Mattan school in which several children sustained injuries. He said that the action substantiated their apprehensions that occupational forces under a well-thought-out plan were destroying the career of the students.
Meanwhile, Hurriyet leaders Javed Ahmad Mir and Khwaja Firdous Wani in their separate statements while sharply reacting to the Indian Army Chief’s statement said that it showed the sick mentality and intolerance of the India’s ruling class towards Kashmiris.
