Election boycott campaign continues in occupied Kashmir

Srinagar, April 07, 2017 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, the leaders of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) and Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Freedom League continued their poll boycott campaign urging people to stay away from the farcical elections.

JKLF leaders and activists continued their election boycott campaign in various parts of south and central Kashmir. Party leaders, Noor Muhammad Kalwal and Zahoor Ahmad Butt, are running the campaign in a peaceful manner in south Kashmir and today these leaders along with Muhammad Ishaaq Ganai and Javed Ahmad Butt held a boycott programme at central Jamia Masjid, Islamabad, and its adjacent areas.

Both leaders addressed various gatherings and held door-to-door campaign, urging people to boycott the so-called elections. They also visited Langanbal, Frisal, Chanxer in Kulgam and appealed the people to stay away from the polling process.

Similarly, JKLF Chief Organizer, Sirajuddin Mir along with Gulzar Ahmad Pahalwan, Mohammad Ramzan Sofi, Merajuddin, Molvi Rasheed, Bilal Dar, Nazir Ahmad Hajam, Muhammad Akram Khan, Abdul Majeed Hakim, Muhammad Maqbool, Ali Muhammad and Ishfaq Ahmad continued their efforts in Beeru, Chadoora and Khan Sahib areas.

The JKPFL General Secretary, Muhammad Ramzan Khan and chief organizer Imtiyaz Ahmad Shah along with party workers continued poll boycott campaign in Nowgam, Kralpora and Chadoora areas of Srinagar and Budgam districts.

Muhammad Ramzan Khan urged the people to stay away from the Indian Parliamentary sham elections in the territory. He told the people that India was holding such farcical elections to strengthen its illegal occupation over Kashmir and hoodwink the world regarding the ground situation of occupied Kashmir.

Meanwhile, Hurriyet leaders including Farooq Ahmed Tawheedi and Firdous Ahmed Shah in their separate statements also urged the Kashmiri people to remain aloof from the elections drama being staged by India in the occupied territory.

On the other hand, the illegally detained JKLF Chairman, Mohammad Yasin Malik, in a statement paid glowing tributes to the former President of Jamiat Ahle Hadith, Maulana Showkat Ahmed Shah, on his martyrdom anniversary. He said that personalities like martyred Maulana Showkat Ahmad Shah were born in centuries.
