Islamabad, December 12, 2016 (PPI-OT): Reference last night’s incident at Multan airport, when due to some technical issue, take off of PK-581 was aborted and the ATR-72 aircraft was temporarily grounded, today PIA’s engineering team was sent from Karachi to inspect the engines of this aircraft. A thorough borescopic of the allegedly reported engine was carried out and it was found that contrary to media reports the engine itself had no problem at all. It was rather the surge bleed valve which required replacement. The borescopic also revealed that none of the engine parts was damaged, which also negated any possibility of the engine having caught fire.
