Srinagar, November 28, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) has strongly condemned the continued illegal detention of its Chairperson, Aasiya Andrabi, and her associate, Fehmeeda Sofi. The DeM General Secretary, Nahida Nasreen, in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “The self-claimed democracy of India has created a record of sorts by holding two women captive for a period of 26 days and it is being presented as if nobody has been arrested.
”She said that India had desecrated its own law as Aasiya Andrabi and Fehmeeda Sofi had been held captive without being produced before a magistrate. She said that even an FIR had not been registered against them. “On one hand, Indian prime minister, Narendra Modi is talking about digital India and, on the other, two women are being held for just opening mouth against the illegal occupation of Kashmir by India,” she said.
