Srinagar, July 21, 2016 (PPI-OT):The Dal Khalsa, a Sikh organization, will hold a protest demonstration In Jalandhar, tomorrow (July 22), against the killing of over 45 civilians and injuring of scores of others with pellet guns by Indian forces in occupied Kashmir.
A spokesman of Dal Khalsa in a statement issued in Jalandhar said, “Activists of the organisation will organize a sit-in for two hours at Nakodar Chowk.”
Quoting party head, Harpal Singh Cheema, the spokesman said that they had decided to observe July 22 as Kashmir Solidarity Day. He said that the happenings in Kashmir were reminiscent of what happened in Punjab in 1984 and afterwards.
Harpal Singh Cheema said that the Indian state targeted the Punjab and the Sikhs then and now all hell had been let loose on people of Kashmir. “We can realize the pain and wounds of Kashmiri people as we had gone through such horrible times. The Punjab is the natural neighbour of Kashmir and we would stand by our neighbours with firm resolve in their hour of crisis,” he added.
