Srinagar, October 25, 2022 (PPI-OT): All Parties Hurriyat Conference leaders and organizations have expressed profound grief over the death of senior APHC leader Molvi Abbas Ansari in Srinagar, today. Illegally detained Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party Shabir Ahmed Shah in a message from New Delhi’s Tihar jail highlighted the deceased leader’s contribution to the Kashmiris’ ongoing freedom struggle. He said that Abbas Anasari spent years behind bars for his life long struggle for Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.
“Molvi Abbas Ansari had devoted his entire life for the cause”, Shah said, adding that his political, religious and social services for the people of Kashmir would be remembered for a long time in the annals of Kashmir history. Senior APHC leader Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi in a statement in Srinagar said that the death of Molvi Abbas Ansari has brought the era of a golden chapter Kashmir’s freedom history to an end. He said that the late leader was an open book of resistance and resilience against the occupation of his motherland.
Another illegally detained APHC leader, Nayeem Ahmed Khan in a message from Tihar Jail, said that Molvi Abbas Ansari was one of the pioneers of the freedom struggle. Khan said, “Molvi Abbas Ansari was a great freedom fighter, an orator, and religious scholar par excellence”. APHC leader Engineer Hilal Ahmad War said Molvi Abbas Ansari’s demise is a huge loss to the freedom movement. He was not only a great religious leader but also a champion of right to self-determination of the people of Kashmir.
Democratic Hurriyat Front leaders Chaudhry Shaheen Iqbal, Ghulam Nabi War, Hakeem Abdul Rasheed, Muhammad Aaqib, Shabbir Ahmad Advocate, Muzammal Advocate and Israr Ahmad in a joint statement vowed to continue the mission of the deceased leader. Islami Tanzeem-e-Azad Jammu and Kashmir also paid tribute to Movli Abbas Ansari.
APHC-AJK chapter Convener Mehmood Ahmad Saghar while paying tributes to Molvi Abbas Ansari said that he was a man of honesty and integrity who remained stick to his stand on Kashmir till his last breath. Former APHC-AJK Convener, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani said Molvi Abbas Ansari was also a great politician who believed in the Islamic solidarity of all Muslims of Jammu and Kashmir. He spent his entire political life in preaching the cause of liberation of Jammu and Kashmir from the clutches of Indian illegal occupation. Other Hurriyat AJK leaders including Altaf Hussain Wani, Sheikh Abdul Mateen and Imtiaz Wani also expressed sorrow over the sad demise of Molvi Abbas Ansari.
