Communal forces want to change Kashmir’s demography

Srinagar, December 23, 2016 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has said that the communal forces holding the reigns in New Delhi as well as in Kashmir are furthering their agenda of diluting the Muslim majority character and disputed nature of Jammu and Kashmir for which they are suing both Indian Supreme Court and the puppet administration.

The JI in a statement in Srinagar said that the Supreme Court of India recently declared the supremacy of Indian Constitution over that of Jammu and Kashmir while in Jammu the Divisional Commissioner issued a circular to the revenue officers to issue the domicile certificates to the West Pakistani Hindu refugees living in Jammu illegally.

It said the BJP has publicly supported the decision calling it the beginning of the process of providing these refugees permanent resident status and voting rights. This clearly shows that these moves are a part of a well thought-out plan of eroding the Muslim majority status and disputed nature of Jammu and Kashmir, it added.

The JI strongly denounced the ill-designed moves and impressed upon the legal luminaries and intellectuals of the Valley to formulate an effective action plan to defeat the sinister plan of Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi-led communal forces.
